Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there, humans!
I’m Luci, and if you’re reading this, you must be looking for a pup who will steal your heart and keep you on your toes. I’m a Great Pyrenees and Saint Bernard mix, which means I come with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I’m still growing, but trust me—at 75 pounds already, I’m definitely not going to fit in your lap, but that doesn't mean I am not still going to try. ;) But don’t let my size fool you! While I may look like I could wrestle a bear, I’m really just a big, cuddly goofball with a mischievous streak who can't wait to bring the cuddles, the fluff, and the fun with her!
So, how did I end up here you ask? Well, my former humans just couldn’t keep up with my larger-than-life personality. They’re amazing, but let’s just say, keeping up with a 75lb bundle of joy (and a dash of mischief) wasn’t exactly in the cards for them. They’ve got some health stuff going on, and as much as they love me, they realized they couldn’t handle a strong, zoomie-filled gal like myself right now. They loved me very much and wanted the best for me, and they knew I needed someone who could handle all my puppy energy and guide me as I grew into the giant goofball I'm destined to be. So, they surrendered me to PPFT to help with that.
Okay, okay, let me tell you about me: I’m seriously the sweetest girl. I’m a big ol’ teddy bear who just wants to be close to my people 24/7. I love to snuggle up on the bed at night and will make sure I’m all up in your personal space, nestled right next to you. Don’t worry, I’m a good snuggler—just a little clingy. You’ll never have to sleep alone! I’ll follow you from room to room, making sure you know I’m always right there (because, honestly, how could I miss out on any fun?). Now, let’s talk about my face. That St. Bernard face. You know the one—big, droopy eyes that say, "I’m sweet, I promise!" and yes, I come with all the drool that goes with it. I’ll just mouth on my buddy Dudley all day long, and before you know it, his head is covered in a nice layer of slobber. It’s my special gift to him. I also have a habit of walking between your feet like a little shadow, and if I’m feeling cheeky, I’ll nip at your shoes or slippers—sorry in advance, I’m just trying to figure out the best way to tell you to stop running away from me. Now, if you’ve got a thing for giving ear scratches, I’m your girl. I can’t get enough of them. But—and this is important—do not mess with my feet. I’m not a fan of that at all. We’ll have to have a discussion about that. But ice cubes? Oh, I’m all about them! I’ll chew up those ice cubes like they’re the best thing in the world. If you’re eating something, I’ll also politely ask for a bite, with a side of drool that is. My personality is amazing, just ask anyone! I’m a good, good girl, with the sweetest disposition and those big, droopy St. Bernard eyes that just melt your heart. Yes, I might have a little of that Pyr stubbornness, but it’s all part of my charm. I’m super soft, snuggly, and I’ve got the cutest freckles on my nose and crimped hair on my ears (I know, adorable, right?).
Let me tell you about my temperament—I’m basically the life of the party! I could play with other dogs all day long. Seriously, if there’s a game of fetch, tag, or any kind of zoomie marathon happening, count me in! It's like the best thing in the whole world—chasing tails, tumbling through the grass, and playing "who's gonna win the tug-of-war" until we all collapse in a pile of happy exhaustion. I’m definitely a happy-go-lucky, energetic pup who needs a buddy to play with, or at least a ton of things to keep me busy. A bored Luci is a mischievous Luci, so I’ll need either another doggie playmate or an active human to keep up with my adventures. I love to run, jump, and explore, so if you're into outdoor fun, we’ll be besties in no time! Oh, and water! I had my first lake experience recently. At first, I was like, “Nope, feet are wet, not feeling this!” But then I thought, “Wait... this is actually kind of fun!” So, I ventured in—up to my chest, at least. It was a huge moment for me, and I think I could get really into it with a little more practice. I’m open to new experiences, especially when they come with splashes and cool water.
Oh, I love car rides! The second I see you head to the car, I’m already hopping in like, “Let’s go, let’s go!” I might try to sneak into the front seat to ride shotgun (because, come on, I’m that special), but I’m not too picky about my spot as long as I get to look out the window. There’s just something about the wind in my fur and the world whizzing by that makes me feel like a superstar. Plus, let’s face it, I look fabulous with my head out the window. When it comes to public outings, I’m totally in! I love meeting new people and seeing new places, though I’m still a little enthusiastic on the leash. I’ll try to pull you toward everything exciting (hey, who wouldn’t want to meet every new person and sniff every corner?), so I definitely need a little leash training to help me keep my cool. But I’m great with new faces and happy to make a few friends wherever we go. Just be prepared for a bit of a tug-of-war as I get used to not dragging you to the nearest cafe or pet store. Now, if you’re more of a homebody, I’m cool with that too. Don’t get me wrong—I love to go places, but I’m also a pro napper. After a good play session, you’ll catch me zonked out, curled up like a fluffy potato, recharging for my next adventure. I’m all about the balance between excitement and relaxation. As for walks, I’m a fan—though I’ve got that whole “zig-zag” thing down to an art. It’s like I’m auditioning for a role in a live-action cartoon. I prefer a harness (much more comfy and stylish) and can sometimes pull, but hey, I’m working on it. I’m getting better with each stroll, just need a little guidance to keep me from turning the walk into a tug-of-war contest. When meeting new people, I’m a little reserved at first. I’ll observe from a distance to make sure they’re cool, and then I’ll slowly warm up. I’m not super outgoing right away, but once I’ve decided you’re safe, I’m all about the cuddles and attention!
I’m definitely a dog’s dog! I thrive in the company of other dogs because, well, who else is going to keep up with my zoomies and game of who can wrestle the hardest? Another dog to play with would be ideal, as I’ve got a ton of energy to burn, and I’d love a buddy to help keep me entertained. Plus, I get a little anxious when left alone, so having another dog around would definitely ease my worries and keep me company. Now, let’s be real—I’m not your go-to girl if you’ve got a cranky senior dog who’s just looking to nap in peace, or if you’ve got a dog who thinks they were meant to live in your purse. My idea of personal space is a little... let’s say, loose. I’m all about the zoomies, the cuddles, and the playtime—so, if your other dog prefers a calm, quiet existence, and not getting pawed in the face at least once...twice, maybe three times a day...I might not be the best roommate. As for cats? I’m totally chill with them. They’re not my primary playmates, but I’m all for sharing the space with a feline friend. I’m a gentle giant, so as long as they don’t mind a curious pup, we’d probably get along just fine. And as for kids—well, I would definitely love them, but let’s just say I come with a lot of energy! I might be a bit much for the tiny ones unless they're already training to be future football players. I’d be thrilled to run around with them, but be prepared for some enthusiastic tail wags, accidental knocks, and possibly a few too many wet-nosed kisses. I’m just that kind of girl! If your kids can handle my exuberance and you’re ready for a happy, playful companion, I’d be all in. But if you’ve got a household that prefers quiet evenings and a calm demeanor, you might want to look elsewhere.
Okay, so apartment life? Well, if you’re looking for a low-energy companion to curl up on the couch all day, I’m probably not your gal. But, if you’re an active person who loves to get out for walks and runs, then I’m totally up for apartment living! I’ve got loads of energy, so I’ll need plenty of walks and playtime to burn it off. Otherwise, I might start doing zoomies indoors... and I don’t think your neighbors would appreciate that! Now, about potty training—I'm almost there! As long as I get my walks, I’m good to go. But if you skip them, well, I might get a little too comfortable with the idea of making indoor "decorations." So, regular walks are key to keeping things tidy! I’m not kennel trained, though—I'm not a fan of being confined to a crate. I’d much rather be hanging out with my humans (or dog pals) and exploring the house. I do, however, have a fondness for couches. I believe in maximum comfort, and your couch is just the perfect place to plop down and cuddle, especially when you’re ignoring me and I need to get your attention. That’s when I’ll bark—loudly—because I am a girl who knows what she wants, and sometimes that’s just a cozy spot on the couch or someone to play with. As for chewing, well... let’s just say I’ve got a thing for cardboard, sticks, and sometimes even furniture. I try to stick to my toys, but if I find something new, I might just give it a taste test. I’m working on it, though! I’m definitely a barker when I want attention! If I need help getting on the bed or I’m trying to get you to play with me and you’re ignoring me (how could you?!), I’ll give you a little reminder. I also like to join in when the other dogs bark outside, but I’m not constantly barking—just when it’s absolutely necessary! And let's be honest...me not getting pets/cuddles when I want them is absolutely an emergency. ;)
Alright, listen up: I’m not just looking for a temporary gig here. I want to be your forever dog. Like, I don’t want to be the "we got you because we were lonely but now we’re moving and can't take you" dog. Or the "oh, we thought we wanted a big puppy, but now you’re a little too much to handle, so off you go" dog. And let’s not forget, I’m definitely not here for the "we didn’t realize how much drool you’d have" situation where I’m sent back because my St. Bernard face comes with the world’s most epic slobber. I’m all in for the long-term, the "forever" kind of deal. I want to be your buddy through the good days, the tough days, the drooly days—I’ll be there for all of it! o if you’re looking for a dog who’s not just a "pass through" but a true companion, then we’re a match made in heaven. I’m here for the long run, not just the 'until something happens.' Forever, baby. 🐾❤️
So what happens next? Well, I would hope that you would submit an adoption app for me. You can find the app on the rescue's website, message them for it, or find it in the comments below.
I am being fostered in ✨Purcell, OK✨ so if you live outside the area..no worries. Just be prepared to pack for a road trip because this rescue doesn't send us on transports. So, both they and I will be expecting you to come pick me up. And what better way to start the bonding process than with a road trip?!
Alright, I’m outta here for now—gotta go slobber on Dudley’s face and figure out how to get another ice cube out of the freezer. But just so you know, I’m ready to be your forever dog when you are!
With lots of love and fluff,
Luci
