My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dear sweet Teddy is looking for a retirement home after his dad passed away recently.
He's 19 years young but he's in great shape for a geriatric old boy.
Teddy lived with two little dogs and previously in his life he also lived with other cats.
Because Teddy is declawed on his front feet he does seem to feel a bit vulnerable at times and so if he is to share his new home with other pets, Teddy says could they please be very cat friendly so that he doesnt get scared.
No small children for Teddy please, he has lived a senior life for some time now and small children are not on his wish list.
If you think Teddy is as beautiful as we do, if there is room on the couch for him, and you can give a great home to a senior gentleman please let us know.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
