My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

 Hey there! I’m Dandelion, a roughly 2-3-year-old hound mix with a heart full of love and a dash of mystery. My past is a bit of a riddle, as there wasn’t any clear reason for why I was surrendered. But let’s not dwell on that—I’m all about the present and future, especially if it includes a cozy home, warm snuggles, and plenty of belly rubs! 

 I’m up-to-date on all my vaccines and have been spayed, so I’m ready for my forever family. The humans here have discovered that I’m as   sweet as can be and adore being around people. I’m great with other dogs, so if you have some canine friends, we’ll get along just fine. I’m still a bit of a question mark when it comes to cats—we’ll need to figure that out together! 

 True to my hound nature, I’m fiercely loyal, thrive on affection, and am always wagging my tail with happiness. I’d love nothing more than to find a family who appreciates my loving spirit and adventurous heart.

Additional adoption info

Due to the current situation we are no longer allowing casual visits to the shelter. You will need to submit an application with the name of the dog or cat you are interested in adopting via email. Please visit our website www.petsaversshreveport.org to download an adoption application. Applications can be emailed back to us at petsavers@petsaversshreveport.org

Adoption fees for dogs range from $100-$250. All pets come fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested (for dogs).

The shelter is open seven days a week from 12pm to 4pm
Casual visits are no longer allowed. You will need to submit an application via email with the name of the dog or cat you are interested in adopting.

Monthly Events:
Petsmart Adoption Days have been suspended until further notice.
Adoption Day at Petsmart on 7061 Youree Dr., Shreveport
Every 3rd & 4th Saturday of the month from 11am to 3pm

Pet Savers is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, founded in 2005 and located in Northwest Louisiana. Our mission is to rescue, protect, and place abandoned or unwanted pets and provide funds for neutering, spaying, and other veterinary care.

Our precious rescues are cared for 7 days a week, 365 days a year by a special group of dedicated staff and volunteers.
