Once your application is approved, you will be notified by staff and allowed to come meet our available pets.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Stop by our adoption center to visit with our available pets.

Additional adoption info

All animals are adopted to qualified applicants on a first-come-first-serve basis. Adoption fees are $60 for adult dogs, $75 for puppies, and $50 for cats and kittens.

All adopted animals will be spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, protected again fleas and ticks, microchipped, sent home with a free bag of Science Diet pet food, and much more!

The shelter has also partnered with local veterinarians to provide a free Health Care Certificate with every adoption. The certificate offers a free exam for your pet from your choice of participating veterinarians and has a value of up to $500 in savings.

How to Adopt:

Please visit our website to view pets available for adoption. You can submit an adoption application online or stop by in person to fill out an application for approval prior to meeting with the pets you are interested.

The mission of Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control Staff and Volunteers:

Encourage pet owners to be responsible for pets in their care by providing educational programs on humane treatment, animal behavior training, and proper control.

Appropriately enforce county, state, and federal animal laws.

Provide safe shelter and veterinary care for lost, abandoned and unwanted animals.

Return to owners or adopt to new homes, as many impounded animals as possible.

Humanely euthanize injured and sick animals.

Encourage spay/neuter and provide reduced-cost surgery for Palm Beach County pet owners through three spay/neuter programs.

Conduct other effective programs, which protect the health, safety, and welfare of animals and the residents of Palm Beach County.
