Anchovy is an American Pitbull terrier mix guessed to be about a year old. She was found in Fulton Hill RVA running in and out of traffic. Although she was not in the best shape when we found her, she has come a very far way, and is now ready to look for her forever home. She has never met a person she doesn't like, and just wants to play and cuddle. Besides being overall just very sweet, She also sits beautifully for nail clippings and bath time, As well as having a very strong food drive making training with her super fun. She has lots of energy, and would excel in sports or even as a hiking buddy. She walks extremely well on leash.
Anchovy has begun crate training and e-collar conditioning while living with her foster parents, and she clearly thrives when learning and thinking. We have noticed that due to Anchovy's time on the streets, she has developed some intense prey drive, and we do not advise her to be placed in the same home as any small animals. She has had a few brief interactions with larger male dogs, and though she's a bit overbearing, has not shown signs of aggression. That being said we advise she be placed with an experienced home if planning to introduce her to new dogs. Anchovy is truly an amazing and sweet dog, who would thrive in a home willing to keep up with her energetic personality.
