My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dunk The Lovebug! Dunk is an adorable, super snuggly 18 month in need of a new home! Dunk was adopted last year from a local shelter, and although his adopter absolutely adores him, she has come to the sad realization that he deserves more than she is able to provide, as she is gone long hours and does not have a yard. Dunk absolutely ADORES other dogs, so having another dog in the home for him to play with would be ideal, though is not required. If Dunk would be an only dog, then he’d definitely benefit from regular doggie play dates or even doggie day care. Dunk is also cat friendly, and in fact, currently lives with two cats! Although Dunk loves humans of all ages and has done very well meeting little ones, he’d likely do best living with older children (10+) due to his size, strength, and energy level. Dunk does very well out in public, and will settle nicely at outdoor restaurants. He is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands. Dunk would really love a fenced in yard in which to run around. His leash walking skills are improving, though he would benefit from professional training, due to being very strong on a leash and having a high prey drive. Dunk weighs 55lbs, is neutered, and up to date on shots. Dunk is located in the Ellicott City/Catonsville area. $50 Rehoming fee, and adopters will be screened (including a vet reference check and a home visit.

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
