Charles is one very sweet kitten who is trying so hard to overcome his fears. He came in as a stray without much human contact so it has taken him a while to warm up to his foster family but we're confident that he will keep improving on his own time, and will need a patient family that understands he is going to take a while to settle in.
Charles has already made a lot of improvement to be proud of. He has gone from hiding 100% of the time to now playing out in the open with his beloved springs & lasers and also rubbing your legs while you get his meals ready. You can really tell that he desperately wants to be close to his humans, but he just isn't all the way there yet. He'll look right at you while rolling on the ground and being cut and he'll even try to jump on the couch with you, but then gets scared and jump off. All of this showing us that Charles is one day going to be a cuddly boy, he just needs to get there in his own time.
He is very food motivated so if you have other cats he will try and eat their foo, but he's very polite about it and will wait until they're finished to eat it. He definitely prefers wet food over dry, so it's something you may just need to keep an eye on.
Charles also has the cutest meow! Its more like a broken ‘me’ than a full ‘meow’ but it will totally melt your heart. His fur is very soft and he's even worked his way up to being okay with a few pets during dinner time. Charles would love if his new forever home had a friendly cat that he could be friends with and would bring him comfort. He is truly such a sweet and cute kitty who just needs a little extra patience and time to let his true self shine.

Additional adoption info
Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).
This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!
Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
