My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poppy is a 3 year old midsized terrier mix. She was adopted at 3 months old from a shelter, but unfortunately her owner is divorced now and works long hours. So, it's best if Poppy finds a home best suited for her needs and ArkanPaws was given the challenge of finding the best possible home out there.

Poppy loves her people and is very protective, but not aggressive. She is anxious at times and would do best with someone who is retired and home a lot as she would make great company and benefit from the companionship. She does prefer the company of females over men, but it makes sense considering her owner is a woman. As short as Poppy is, she has jumped over fences, so a fence at least five feet tall would be ideal. She does walk well on a leash, however she has to be monitored since Poppy is insecure around strangers and will nip out of anxiety. (Does not bite, but gives a warning nip) Poppy does well with older kids, but small children make her nervous. She gets along great with cats.

Snuggling is one of this girl's favorite past times! So, if you enjoy watching tv and would like a snuggle buddy, she is your girl. Poppy graduated from puppy class and is potty trained. Currently she is in Arkansas, however we do have access to transport to New England. Her adoption fee is $450 for New England adopter and that covers the cost of transport, her health exam, and 6 months of Simparica Trio. For local adoptions in Arkansas and surrounding states her adoption fee is $225

Go meet their pets

We have many events in the Central Arkansas area! And if you are not in the Central Arkansas area, we are more than happy to send you videos and flood you with photos of your pup. :) We operate in New England as well, and typically are there for 4-5 days out of the month. Also, please speak to the foster parent to find out anything you'd like to know. We are more than happy to connect you!

More about this rescue

Our goal is to educate the public on spaying/neutering their pets, as well as to advocate/provide safe temporary homes for displaced, neglected, or abused animals. We rehabilitate, vet, and place in permanent homes, as well as offering transport to the New England area.
