My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ember (aka Riley): 27 lbs of Pure Puppy Love!

Ember is a lovable, cuddly, and oh-so-sweet pup with the perfect mix of energy and chill vibes. While he’s a bit shy and nervous when meeting new people, he warms up quickly with patience and love. Once he trusts you, he’ll share his boundless affection, playful energy, and plenty of puppy kisses!

Personality & Friendliness

Ember is a social butterfly with dogs and enjoys playing with canine friends, especially larger ones that can match his enthusiastic energy. Smaller dogs might find his excitement a bit overwhelming, but he means no harm. He’s more cautious with new humans, taking a little time to build trust, but his sweetness shines through once he feels safe.

What Ember Loves

Ember’s favorite activities include:

  • Playing with toys, especially balls of all kinds

  • Running around with his doggy pals

  • Snuggling up after a day of fun
When everyone else is tired, Ember is content to entertain himself. He has a soft spot for homemade peanut butter treats and loves a good nap or cuddle session once he feels at home.

Training & Accomplishments

This smart pup is a training superstar! Ember:

  • Walks well on a leash

  • Knows commands like "No," "Gentle," "Leave it," "Sit," "Drop it," and "Potty time"

  • Has mastered climbing stairs (though going down is still a work in progress)

  • Is kennel trained and sleeps through the night without accidents

  • Goes potty right after heading outside
He even puts himself to bed for naps and handles car rides like a pro!

Work in Progress

  • Ember is still getting used to his harness, but he’s improving daily with patience and treats.

  • He’s learning to navigate going down stairs and redirect puppy nipping with chew toys or a firm “No.”

  • A fenced yard is required to provide him a safe, secure space as he continues to grow and build confidence.

Best Home for Ember

  • A calm and patient family who will help him feel comfortable meeting new people.

  • No children under 10, as his shy and nervous nature combined with puppy energy/size might be overwhelming for little ones.

  • A family ready to provide plenty of love, structure, and playtime!

What to Expect

Ember is still growing, and his adult size is a bit of a mystery! Based on his current size, our best guess is he could weigh anywhere between 50–75 lbs, but he might surprise us by staying closer to 40 lbs or growing as large as 100 lbs.

Quirky & Lovable Traits

Like any puppy, Ember has his adorable quirks. He might steal your shoes, nip at your feet, or give you a little sass if breakfast is running late—but his charm will leave you smiling every single day.

If you’re looking for a shy but sweet pup who will fill your life with love, laughter, and puppy kisses, Ember is the one for you! Adopt him, and you’ll gain a loyal and loving companion for life.

Adopt Ember today, and let the joy begin!

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are with fosters on the east coast. The location in which the foster resides should be listed with each profile.

We are setting up some adoption events now, but are free for private meet and greets if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets!

More about this rescue

We have a passion for senior animals. To be able to save an animal from dying alone in a shelter, to give it a chance to live out its last days/months/years in a home with the proper care and love it deserves, instead of a cold shelter, is what drives us to keep going.

We obviously have financial needs that come with rescuing senior dogs, so we will be rescuing puppies and younger dogs as well so we are able to care for our seniors.
