Birdy is a one-year-old Australian Shepherd Doodle. We re-homed her when she was 8 months so that we could have another dog to play with our labradoodle. And while the two get along very well and she is certainly adorable, she has proved to be more than we can handle. Being a working dog and a puppy, she needs a lot of stimulation, otherwise she can wreak some havoc. She needs daily walks (more than one is ideal) and some training. If she is left to her own devices she will chew on things other than her dog toys. She will release some urine on the floor if overly excited, but is house-trained to go outside if you have a dog door. She was trained to use a bell to ring to be let out, but we haven’t used that.
She doesn’t shed much at all, loves people, likes to snuggle, and loves to play with our other dog. We will miss her sorely, but don’t have the time to give her the attention and training she needs.
