My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dennis:

Dennis came to the BC SPCA Kelowna Centre from Dog Control where he was never claimed by an owner. He is now here awaiting a new family who will give him the love, companionship and security he's wants and so deserves. We know nothing of his background but we are happy to share what we have learned in the short time he's been with us. He is friendly, playful and active. Dennis knows some basic commands such as "sit" and "come", but he is still young and will need to strengthen those skills which would be a bonding experience with his new guardian. He's been described as having a "spunk spirit". We confident he will quickly become a great faithful, fun loving companion.

If you're looking for a canine companion who will fill your life with joy, Dennis is ready to bring his warmth and affection into your home. Please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire at:

https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
