My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Jack!

This little mano is the last of his litter, and we're not sure why 🤔 I mean he's cute as a button, sociable, sweet, and has the most majestic whiskers for a little fella! Seriously, look at them whiskers 😍

At just 12 weeks, Jack is ever so playful, an expert cat post climber, and he has perfected cat napping for a wee guy. Jack can often be found catching all the 💤's on his fave ledge of his cat tree. I mean, what's not to love about Jack? He's pretty purrfect!

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
