My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oyster is a barn cat, and is not available through our general adoption program. Please email adopt@calgaryhumane.ca if you are interested in adoption. Do not make an appointment through our booking calendar.

Age: 3.5 months

Meet Puffball and Oyster, scared little brothers rescued from a rough situation! These boys are very nervous of people and are looking for a home, preferably together, where they can be safe and warm, and gain confidence in their own time. We are looking to rehome these boys to a safe, warm, barn or shop environment with plenty of cozy hiding spaces and access to daily fresh food or water. Given these kittens young age, we are asking that their humans commit to keeping them indoors until spring, to allow them to grow big and strong before they take on the world!
While barn cats like Puffball and Oyster qualify for the barn cat program due to their under socialization to people, with time many barn cats will become quite friendly with their humans and given their young age Puffball and Oyster have a great chance at this!

If you have a cozy and warm space to welcome Puffball and Oyster into, please email our adoptions team today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
