Meet the most adorable duo around, Alex and Bruno!
Alex and Bruno are two gentle souls who are glued at the hip. They are the sweetest of boys who love nothing more than getting attention and giving kisses. Alex is the brown and white kiddo, he is estimated to be 8 years old and we think he is a chihuahua/dachshund mix. He weighs around 15lbs. Bruno is the tan and black kiddo, he is estimated to be 5 years old and we think he is a chihuahua/pug mix. He weighs about 23lbs. Both boys are a little chunky and would benefit from a diet and daily exercise to get them down to a healthy weight.
Alex and Bruno came to us from a local shelter after they were surrendered by their previous owner due to issues with the landlord. The pair has only been with us for a short time, but they have already won our hearts.
Alex and Bruno are mellow guys who enjoy the simple things in life, staying cozy and eating yummy treats. They seem like they were well-loved house pets in their previous home, and very much enjoy life indoors. They are slowly getting comfortable going out for short walks and learning going outside can be great. They are well-mannered boys but seem to not have had any formal training. They would make great companions for a senior person or couple.
Alex and Bruno seem like they could do well living with other easygoing pups but they also wouldn't mind being your two spoiled kiddos. We haven't seen them around cats, but they seem like they could likely do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Alex and Bruno previously lived with kids and could be wonderful additions to a family with kids 7 years or older.
Alex and Bruno's previous owner said they are pee pad trained, so they are still a work in progress getting them comfortable going outside to potty. They likely would do best in a home with a yard, maybe a dog door, to make training easier. They don't like to be crated but have done well sleeping through the night in their bed and free-roaming in their foster mom's bedroom for short periods.
Alex and Bruno are so ready for a fresh start with their fur-ever family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!
Alex and Bruno's combined adoption fee is $500.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.
Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
