Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shelby is a gentle, loving companion who’s company feels warm, sweet and comforting.
One of the key takeaways anyone who meets Shelby has is how cozy her companionship feels, she is gentle with affection and has the warmest brown eyes that reflect her sensitive spirit. Shelby would thrive in a home where her tender nature is welcomed and appreciated. Picture her resting by your feet as you sip your morning coffee or strolling peacefully by your side along your favorite trail—this is the life Shelby dreams of. Take a look at her gentle nature then come back to read more https://youtu.be/1SOYj1FrKtk
Shelby is estimated to be around 2 years old and is believed to be a black lab mix. Her mix has given her a petite, delicate frame, making her a "mini-lab" at just 45 lbs. Her medium size and gentle demeanor make her the perfect fit for someone seeking an easygoing companion. Shelby’s leash skills are as lovely as her personality; she’s content to match your pace, walking calmly without any urgency or pull. She’s present in the moment, making her a pleasure to walk with.
While Shelby’s gentle nature could be mistaken for shyness, she’s actually a confident but sensitive soul who prefers to take things slow. She doesn’t rush through life, and her unhurried approach is a charming trait. She was comfortable in the chaos of an energetic 3 year old, greeting anyone who came through the door with a sweet, gentle hello. She takes treats gently and is never pushy about seeking affection. If you value calm and balance, Shelby is the perfect match for your lifestyle.
Shelby is dog-friendly and has been introduced to dogs of all sizes and energy levels. Her ideal match would be a low-key canine companion with a similarly relaxed energy. Because Shelby is so fulfilled by the company of her people, she does not need a K-9 companion to be happy. She would be more than happy to soak up all the love and promises you all the kisses and snuggles you could need.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.

For households with a cat, Shelby is cat-tolerant; when she met our house cat, she was respectful, cautious, and avoidant—a perfect demeanor for a harmonious coexistence.
If you’re seeking a dog with a calm, understanding heart, Shelby promises cozy nights, sweet kisses, and endless love and loyalty. She’s ready to find her forever family and settle into your arms in a cozy, loving home.
