My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Ella and I am a lovely Black Mouth Cur mix, fearless, athletic, and graceful, about 1 year old, and I weigh 60 lbs. I was one of 5 siblings abandoned in Texas, taken in by 4 Little Paws Rescue, adopted, and moved to Connecticut. Through no fault of my own, and family circumstances, I am looking for a new forever home.

I am a very sweet girl, friendly and happy, and I make friends easily with everyone. I'm great with other dogs and have a blast running around the dog park playing with all the other dogs, fetching my toys, and playing with my family. I love chew toys and rubber balls, tummy rubs, and kisses, and snuggling beside my owner at the end of the day. I’m loyal and smart and yes, I can understand what my people say to me. They think I would make a great sporting dog for someone who hunts, tracks, or has a farm with some animals. I’m just that kind of happy girl with a wonderful personality and an eager-to-please attitude. I’m fully housebroken, crate trained, only bark to alert, love walks and car rides, and I don't guard my things. East Coast families, inquire about me today so we can get this party started!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
