Hi, I'm Franklin-though my foster parents call me Frankles or sometimes Frankleleeeeee (yep, lots of e's!). I'm a soft-hearted little guy who takes a little time to warm up, so I'll need a patient, quiet home where I can adjust at my own pace. Sudden movements can still make me a bit nervous-especially if someone walks toward me too fast-but here's the thing: if you sit down and give me a tiny bit of space, I will come to you. And when I do, oh boy, get ready for some epic barrel rolls!

I love curling up on the couch or snuggling with you on the bed, purring up a storm with my loud little motor. Once I feel safe, I'm all in for companionship and love. If you've got a soft spot for a bashful boy who just needs a bit of time, I think we could be the perfect match.

Adopt-A-Pet Events in the Kansas City Area

Cat adoptions are held at the PetSmart at 115th and Metcalf in Overland Park KS every Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00. Cats available for adoption every day at PetSmart in-store cage area.

Dog adoptions are held at the PetSmart in Olathe KS at 119th and Strang Line, every Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00.

Dog adoptions are held at the PetSmart in Lee's Summit MO at 920 NE Sam Walton Lane, also every Saturday from 12:00 and 3:00.

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.

Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Background
Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs).
