We adopted Winston from the Humane Society earlier this year. We were informed that he had some trouble adjusting to prior homes he had to share with other pets. We were told that, as a couple with no kids or pets, he would thrive in the environment we could give him. While Winston was, and still is a huge cuddler, and will give lots of love, we have uncovered a few behavioral issues, some we have corrected, and others that have proved difficult to mend.
These include:
-Reactivity issues
-Leash training(corrected)
-Barking during intense excitement(corrected)
-Separation anxiety
-Boredom
-Getting into things he is not supposed to like food/trash/couch cushions
Our relationship with Winston has changed since we got him. We've had to crate train him while we are gone to avoid him tearing up our place while we're not there. We feel that this is unfair to him as he now is caged most of the day. We hope to find him a home where he can get the attention and help he needs.
