My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gentle giant Nobel is 10 years old and weighs 81 lbs.

Early in 2024, poor Nobel was found as a stray in the busy city. Despite being lost, hungry, and blind in one eye, Nobel was a calm and cautiously optimistic, really just grateful to be out of the elements and being fed regularly. Unfortunately due to medical concerns (his eye & skin) and his age, Nobel was barely given a chance before he ended up on the euthanasia list. Luckily, his big blocky head and distinguished grey eye quickly stole the heart of a foster. Nobel was rescued, and then on a medical hold for quite a few months for vet appointments, slowly but steadily getting stronger, and was finally cleared for neutering surgery, which went smoothly. Last month, however, Nobel was transported to a board & train facility, saw their vet, and was diagnosed with a heart condition. This poor boy can absolutely not catch a break. We are now searching for a loving hospice foster or adopter. Nobel is currently in boarding, with experienced staff giving him lots of love, but we really just want to see this boy in a cozy home for the remainder of his golden years!

Nobel is a big couch potato, happy to laze around with you. He enjoys his treats, is obedient, not much of a barker, and is a social, happy boy in public. He is gentle when meeting new people, immediately leaning in for pets. Poor Nobel has been through so much and has been well behaved the whole time. Can you see past the years and pounds to the sweet, loving soul inside?

If you can open your heart and home to dear Nobel, please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by email at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Nobel at AmsterDog.org/application.

Go meet their pets

AmsterDog Rescue does not have its own facility. Instead, we rely on fosters to care for our beloved animals. Our available animals may change depending on your location and we do transport animals for adoptions within a reasonable distance. Since you will possibly be speaking with and meeting a foster directly, an application must be filled out prior to meet and greets.

For adoption inquiries, please contact AmsterDog Rescue at 917-689-8414 or info@amsterdog.org. To get the process started, please fill out our online application at www.amsterdog.org/application.
