My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy doody, I am a handsome male Cockapoo Shepherd mix named Charley. I’m 7 months old, 28 lbs with a very soft coat and a happy spirit, despite being almost surrendered to a Queens NY Animal Shelter. Thankfully, 4 Little Paws Rescue stepped in so now I’m living in a foster home and having some fun! I am a happy, friendly pup who makes friends easily, a bit shy with strangers but I warm up quickly. I’m great with having doggy friends and wouldn't mind having a built-in dog buddy when I’m adopted. I’m very playful, yet respectful of other dogs, and when playtime is over I am happy to chill out on the couch. I’m sweet and affectionate, rarely bark, well-behaved and housebroken. My foster mom says I have all the fun puppy attributes (cute, exuberant, goofy) without having any of the negatives (not a chewer and already potty trained). My future looks bright, and although I am currently staying in Connecticut, I am so looking forward to joining a wonderful family anywhere on the East Coast! Inquire about me today and bring me home!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
