My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Gio! My days are filled with wagging tails and endless games of fetch. I'm a puppy at heart, always ready to explore new corners of the world. My favorite toy is a squeaky ball, and I can play with it for hours. I'm a sweet and friendly guy who loves to meet new people and other dogs. I have a playful spirit that never fades, even when it's time for bed. I'm always up for a cuddle, and I give the best puppy kisses. I'm looking for a family who loves fun as much as I do. I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and lots of playful moments. So, why not consider making me a part of your family? I promise to be the best friend you've ever had.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
