My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A WONDERFUL PUPPY:  Approx. 6 -7 months old / Approx. 29 lbs. & growing

Hi, my name is Grant!  I came to Mostly Mutts with my sister, and – as two young pups, we were super happy to become part of the Mostly Mutts family!  We are getting lots of attention and great care from the awesome shelter volunteers and now we’re both ready to find families of our very own!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like my sibling, and I was nice with the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts, although I was nervous and didn’t want to play.  If you have a nice doggie that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / I met a cat recently at Mostly Mutts and was respectful, but a little scared of them.  I also met a cat in my temp. foster home and tried to play with them a little.  If you have a dog-friendly or dog-tolerant cat at home, let’s meet.  / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over, as I am an active and growing puppy!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a playful and fun-spirited pup.  Though I did not love the bath sprayer at first during my shelter bath, I was quite affectionate and relaxed for the shampoo, scrub and second rinse.  I’m alert and a good listener with a sweet nature to boot.  I am both relatively low key and gentle, as well as an active puppy - sure to bring lots of love to my new family … and lots of smiles with my cute, little head tilt! / My energy level is currently 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  So far, I’ve mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘down’ commands.  I am a food-motivated guy, so training time is yummy!  I am still getting the hang of leash walking; however, I liked walking with my temp. foster’s doggie – I wanted to keep up with them!  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts.  I did potty in there in my temp. foster home when I was left alone.  / I've been having quite a few accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’m always excited to be with the volunteers!  They take me to the play yard where I can expend my fun puppy energy.  I like to play with you, and I enjoy playing with toys independently – Nylabones, balls, and soft toys (without stuffing) are a few of my favorites!  I also like to cuddle and sleep in soft doggie beds.  / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and neutered.  I came in with some healing boo-boos/crusting skin around the base of my tail which is coming along nicely.  I still need medicated baths for a little longer and these can be done in my new home.

If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
