My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there! I’m Maggie Mae! I’m a 1-year-old hound mix, with the most adorable tan and white tri-color coat you’ve ever seen. I’ve got these long, soulful ears that seem to get all the attention (I don’t mind — I love it, actually!). At a petite 28 lbs, I’m the perfect size for cuddles and snuggles. Not too big, not too small, just right for a little lap love and lots of outdoor adventures! I’ve had an interesting journey so far. I was a stray in South Carolina, wandering the streets, but I’m so glad that I found my way to a safer place. My past might not be the easiest, but I’m all about moving forward with a wagging tail and a happy heart. I’m a curious and friendly girl who loves meeting new people and exploring the world around me. I’ll definitely keep you on your toes with all my energy and enthusiasm for life!

Okay, let’s be honest — I’m sweet and all, but I’m also active and full of energy, so it’s kind of hard to explain myself sometimes. I’m a little bit quirky and ditzy, but also very stylish? Haha! That’s just part of my charm! I’m a GREAT girl, but when I meet new dogs, I kind of think I’m invincible, and I might get a little too excited. So when I’m first introduced to other dogs, I need to be shown how to respect their space (because I totally forget that I’m not the biggest dog in the world, lol). Don’t worry, though — once I get the hang of things and those first few seconds
of introduction are done, I’m a pro! I get along great with both male and female dogs and can mingle with no problems after that. I just need a little reminder to take it easy at first!

I’m heartworm negative, spayed, and up-to-date on my vaccinations (including my recent rabies shot), so I’m healthy and ready to find my forever family. I may still be young, but I’m already well-mannered and eager to learn. Whether it’s a nice walk around the neighborhood, a game of fetch in the yard, or just cuddling up on the couch, I’m ready to make the most of every moment with the right person. I’m not going to be a wanderer forever, so I’m hoping to find someone who will love me for who I am and make me a part of their family.

Could that be you? I sure hope so. I’ve got so much love to give, and I can’t wait to share it with my forever family.
