My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sunshine! This sweet, silly Labrador blend is 3 and a half years old and weighs 45 lbs. This playful pup will brighten your day with kisses, belly rubs, and love forever.

  • General Behavior: Sunshine is a sweet, loving, playful, and energetic pooch. She gives endless kisses and adores belly rubs.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Sunshine’s favorite thing to do is run! She loves playing, romping around in the yard, and snuggling with her humans.

  • Training: Silly Sunshine has good basic manners and does well with her housetraining when kept to her schedule. She enjoys napping in her designated cozy area and rides well in the car. She is still working on her leash-walking skills and sharing her toys with others.

  • Medical: This big-hearted gal needs the pressure points on her paws cleaned from time to time, and she can't bend her "wrists". But other than that, she just needs her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Sunshine is good with other dogs of all sizes (although she might be a bit too playful for some small dogs). She can be a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up to other furry friends. She even gets along with cats.

  • Children: Sunshine has not been observed around children yet, but she will probably need a home without small children as she is a very active gal who could knock them over. Older kids (10+) are okay.

  • Home: A single-family home with a securely fenced yard and an active family would be perfect for Miss Sunshine! As long as she gets the exercise and attention she needs, she is sure to thrive!

  • Grooming: Sunshine does not require much grooming apart from the occasional bath and nail trim when needed.

  • Overall: Sunshine will be a wonderful companion for someone who is active and ready for lots of adventures and cuddles.

Could you use some Sunshine on a cloudy day? Could Sunshine be your girl? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org, where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with her foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and heartworm negative. Her adoption donation is $275.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
