My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

**Meet Lucia: Your Future Adventure Buddy!**

Lucia is a 3-year-old, 25-pound Beagle mix with a heart as big as her adorable floppy ears! This Costa Rican sweetheart is a lovable, high-energy pup who is ready to fill your days with laughter, affection, and her charming little “aroo” song.

**Playtime Prodigy**
Lucia is a playful spirit who loves her toys, romping with other dogs, and even hanging out with cats. She’s a social butterfly who adores kids and grown-ups alike, offering her signature “hugs” to everyone she meets.

**Adventure-Ready**
Leash in hand, Lucia is your go-to walking buddy—though she might zigzag a bit because there’s just so much world to explore! Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll or a backyard romp, this girl is all in.

**House-Ready**
Lucia is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows her basics like “come” and “sit.” She’s well-mannered and thrives in a home that matches her zest for life.

**A Unique Performer**
Lucia’s low, sweet “aroo” and her habit of standing on her back legs when excited make her a one-of-a-kind entertainer. Who wouldn’t want a daily dose of that cuteness?

Lucia’s journey from being chained in Costa Rica to her foster home in Jacksonville, FL, is a testament to her resilience and loving nature. She’s healthy, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative—ready to find her forever family!

**Adoption Fee**: $250
**Adoptable through**: The London Sanctuary
**Home visits required**: Non-negotiable

Make Lucia’s dreams of a forever home come true—apply today and let her sweet “aroo” welcome you home every day! ❤️

More about this rescue

The London Sanctuary (TLS) focuses on providing a safe haven for elderly and unwanted Beagles and Hound Dogs, as well as other at-risk, large to medium-sized breeds, as space and funds permit. Special consideration is given to hounds of all types, which are also greatly at risk in northeast Florida.

• TLS rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes as many dogs from area shelters as possible. Our priority is to save dogs most at-risk of euthanasia in shelter facilities.
• TLS attempts to place dogs through online pet-listing services and forums, and social media.
• TLS thoroughly screens prospective owners with home and veterinary reference checks.
• TLS houses a limited number of dogs as care-for-life dogs that cannot be placed either due to age and/or medical conditions.
• TLS provides ongoing support and education to all adopters.
• TLS spays/neuters and gives required immunizations and necessary medical treatment to all dogs prior to placement.
