Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hello there, dear friend! My name is Pepper, and oh, what a whirlwind of adventures and love I have to share with you! I’m a one-year-old Blue Tick Coonhound mix, and though I’ve had a bit of a unique start in life, I’m absolutely brimming with hope and excitement for the future.
Now, I must tell you a little secret—well, it’s not really a secret at all. You see, I’m deaf. But oh, don’t you worry! That just makes me even more determined to learn, to grow, and to be the best companion you could ever dream of. I need someone with patience, someone who’ll take the time to teach me in a way that suits me. If you’re up for the challenge, I promise to reward you with loyalty and joy beyond measure.
I simply adore other dogs! They’re my best friends, my confidants, my playmates! And people? Well, let’s just say I’ve never met a person I didn’t want to smother with tail wags and affection. Cats, though, are a different story—they’re just not my cup of tea.
Now here’s the fun part: I’m absolutely, positively, over the moon food-motivated. Training sessions with tasty treats? Yes, please! I’ll hang on your every gesture and gaze if it means there’s a snack in it for me.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and endlessly sweet companion who’s ready to learn and grow with you, I’m your girl. Let’s embark on this beautiful journey together—what do you say?

Find the pet for you at the Adoption Center:
Angels of Assisi’s adoption center is open from 12-6pm, 7 days a week. Adoption Specialists and Volunteer Ambassadors are eager to help you find the pet that would fit best in your family.
Adoptable Pets in Foster Homes:
Some of our available pets are currently in foster homes. If an animal is currently in a foster home, it is noted in the animal's biography online. To meet a pet in foster care, please fill out a non-binding adoption application, and the foster parent will contact you to schedule a meet and greet once the application has been approved (generally within 24 hours).
Found the perfect addition to your family? Now what?
The next step is to fill out an adoption application. You can complete and application online (preferred) or stop by the adoption center to fill out a paper application. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. If you rent your home, we will need to contact your landlord or see a copy of your lease to verify the pet policy. Most applications can be approved within 24-48 hours.
Taking Your New Pet Home
After paying the adoption fee and pending the approval of your application, you may take your new pet home immediately. Adoption fees may vary and can be found on our website at:
