My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Tajin was brought in by a community member on November 1, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Say hello to Tajin, our elusive little feline who's mastered the art of the graceful hide-and-seek. This shy kitten prefers the cozy corners over the spotlight, making her the perfect companion for a serene home environment. Tajin might initially be camera-shy around new faces and bustling households, but with a little patience, she's ready to pounce into your life in her own charming way. Tajin thrives in a calm, quiet setting where she can slowly explore her new domain at her own pace. Think of her as the ultimate introvert who values her personal space-no need for forced cuddles or rushed introductions. Providing Tajin with a safe haven where she can retreat and adjust is key to winning her trust. Remember, bonding with Tajin is a marathon, not a sprint. Offering tasty treats, engaging playtime, and gentle companionship will help her feel more comfortable and start to unveil her playful side. This little lady is gradually opening up to some of our staff members, hinting at the sweet and affectionate cat she can become in the right environment. A home without the hustle and bustle of children and dogs would be ideal, allowing Tajin to settle in without the extra chaos. Ready to embark on a quiet adventure with Tajin? Don't forget to bring a top-loading cat carrier to ensure her journey home is as safe and stress-free as possible. Give Tajin the chance to transform her timid demeanor into a trusted companion, and watch as she gracefully navigates her way into your heart.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
