My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Carrot Cake!

This sweet boy just came into our care and is ready for a new home! His owner had too many fuzzy friends and could not care for them all. He is sweet, affectionate and playful with everyone he meets. If you are looking for an outgoing and curious cat, perhaps this one is for you! He comes from a home with many cats, and would be happy to be in a cat friendly home.

He is set to be neutered on November 20th in North Vancouver (costs covered by the BC SPCA). He would love to find a family before then who can take him to/from this one time appointment. You are welcome to come and meet him in shelter, our adoption hours are Tues-Sun from 12-3.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
