My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Papa (A212688)! Papa is just two years young and looking for a loving home at the shelter.

Papa is the sweetest, most affectionate, loving kitty. He was raised with a lot of love and sadly lost his home because of an unfortunate housing issue. Papa's guardian describes him as a big teddybear and a gentle giant. Papa is sensitive and shy with new people and will need a loving patient guardian who will take the time to help him feel safe and secure in a new home. Once he feels comfortable, there is no stopping Papa from being the best kitty ever! Papa loves attention and pets. You can pet him, brush him and massage him for days and he will be in heaven. :-) Papa enjoys playtime and has lots of fun antics up his sleeve, like stealing bottle caps to play with and sitting in boxes. If Papa wants something he will ask for it, whether it be attention, a toy, or food. :-) Papa loves to be spoiled and loved and will pay you back every day with so much love your heart will burst! Papa needs an indoor only home without children or dogs to feel happy.

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
