My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zander, a spry 7-year-old Shepherd with plenty of pep left in his step! Don’t let his age fool you—Zander is full of energy and loves a good game of tug-of-war with his favorite rope toy or the challenge of a puzzle game. This smart boy thrives on mental stimulation and would love a home that keeps him engaged with enriching activities. Zander is a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and other dogs, and he’s always ready for a long walk to explore the world. If you’re looking for an easygoing companion with a zest for life, Zander could be your perfect match!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
