First of all, my name, Jinx, is not indicative of any bad luck or anything. In fact, all my fortune cookies read that I'm actually good luck to anyone who rubs my head, or speaks sweetly to me, or gives me treats. My last fortune- written in big bold letters-said that whoever took me home would have good luck, a long life, many many friends, and zillions of dollars for the rest of their lives. Now what kind of a deal is that, eh? All you have to do is come get this gorgeous little tabby cat, take him (me) home, give him (me) a good home, and YOU will be blessed forever. And even if you don't get all that other stuff, you get ME. That alone is worth a drive down to Woods to see for yourself: I'm a catch. And I'm waiting to purr my way into your heart.

If you are interested in adopting an animal, please visit our shelter and spend time with the animals. Upon application approval the adoption will be processed.

Puppies (under 5 months of age): $200
Dogs (5 months - 7 years): $150
Dogs (7+ years): $100

Kittens (under 5 months of age): $150
Cats (5 months - 7 years): $80
Cats (7+ years): $65

Woods Humane Society, Inc. is a nonprofit, privately funded organization dedicated to the humane care of unwanted animals in San Luis Obispo County. Our Staff, volunteers, and board of directors are dedicated to upholding our Mission and preserving the welfare of our present and future animals.

While we cooperate with the State Humane Association of California, the American Humane Association, and The Humane Society of the United States, Woods does not receive financial support from them. Only 20% of our revenues to care for the animals are generated by service fees, the other 80% is generated from fund-raising events, grants, wills, and mainly community donations.

Woods Humane Society is proud to be a leader among the nation’s humane organizations. Thanks to loyal and broad-based community support, and the diligent efforts of our dedicated staff and volunteers, Woods placement rate averages 97%, an outstanding achievement.
