My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Nala!
I might be shy when you come up to me but I promise I am excited to meet you! I just need to warm up to you at first.

I love going on long walks and playing with all of my toys. I even like playing with other dogs and children too! I feel like I could like cats, but I haven't been around any yet.

I love food and treats--I will sit for you all day long as long as you keep giving me treats! I am crate trained, potty trained and I do really well on a leash. I would love a fenced-in yard to run around in, and some older kids to play with, and maybe even another playful and friendly dog!

I can't wait to meet my forever family--please fill out an application to meet me. Questions? Email placement@thestreetdogproject.org.

More about this rescue

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.

We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.

The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
