My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hamil is a 1.5-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a big personality to match. This smart, affectionate boy thrives on building strong bonds with his people and is eager to please. He’s looking for a home that understands his active and playful nature and can provide the daily exercise and enrichment he craves.

Hamil would be happiest in a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs, run around, and get in some quality playtime. He’s got a great head start on his training—he’s already mastered “sit” and “down” and is working on his “off” command. He’s a fast learner with a lot of potential, especially when given the chance to show off his listening skills (which he loves to do, as it boosts his confidence!).

Hamil gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playdates. He can be a bit enthusiastic during playtime, but it’s all in good fun—he’s just a big, happy puppy who’s excited to make friends! He’d do well with someone who can help guide him, providing both structure and patience as he continues to learn and grow.

If you’re an experienced dog owner who can be a strong, positive leader for this energetic boy, Hamil could be the perfect fit for you. He’s ready to find his forever family—could it be yours?

Hamil is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered.

More about this rescue

Founded by Vivian Goldbloom in 2013, Emerald City Pet Rescue exists to rescue abused, neglected, and homeless animals from high-volume shelters around the country.

We pride ourselves on providing the best medical care possible for our rescued animals and rehabilitating hard-to-adopt animals to help them increase their chances of finding loving homes.

Our screening process includes meet and greets, reference checks, and a visit to the potential owner’s home to ensure the home and family are compatible with the pet’s needs and our requirements. We do everything we can to ensure that loving homes are found for these amazing pets.

Emerald City Pet Rescue is run by dedicated staff and volunteers who give their time and resources to house, train, rehabilitate, and care for our animals. Above all else, we truly believe that Love Can Save Lives.
