My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Currently fostered in Toronto

Meet Miz! This charming, one-year-old mixed-breed boy, weighs a petite 12 kg and has a gentle, friendly spirit. Miz is initially a bit shy around new people, but a treat helps him to warm up and enjoy some pets. He can be gently lifted, although he may stay a little tense at first; as he gets more comfortable, he’ll even show his belly! He’s met children under 13, but he usually shows little interest in them.
When it comes to other dogs, Miz is polite and introduces himself calmly. If another dog is too forward, Miz may get a bit defensive, but with time, he’ll join in the fun and plays nicely. He won’t start a conflict, but he also won’t back down if challenged. Cats he’s seen on walks don’t seem to interest him, and he can be further tested with a household cat if needed.
Miz has no aggression toward food or toys and shows no prey drive. He has a medium energy level, enjoying outdoor activities but relaxing quietly afterward. On a leash, Miz is very manageable, usually following his nose instead of his handler’s lead but with no pulling, which keeps him easy to control. Occasionally, a loud car or sudden noise will make him flinch back slightly, though he quickly recovers. He’s comfortable in a crate, and though fully house-trained at the shelter, he tends to need a long walk to settle enough to relieve himself.
Barking is rare for Miz, usually just a few barks when someone new arrives. He loves being petted and has no issues with being touched anywhere, even happily cuddling when he’s familiar with someone. He’s well-mannered at home, showing no destructive behavior or territoriality around food or toys with other dogs or people. Miz is in excellent health and was recently rescued from the Cheongju Shelter. He’s now ready to bring his sweet personality and love to a forever family!

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
