My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Angelou arrived:
Was Adopted out and returned to our care on 9/14/24

Here is how Angelou is doing in foster:
Angelou is settling in beautifully! Once she feels comfortable, this affectionate kitty loves to rub against your legs and soak up pets. She's a cozy companion who enjoys watching TV and makes biscuits instantly when on a soft blanket. While she's not a fan of being picked up, she's more than happy to snuggle beside you.
Angelou has a playful side, especially with her favorite mouse toy, and she's content to snooze solo during the day. She's a belly-showing queen, but keep in mind it's not always an invitation for pets-she may give a gentle swat to remind you of her boundaries.
Angelou would thrive in a home with older children who can understand her cues and respect her space. With her sweet and fun personality, she's ready to bring love and entertainment to her forever home!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
