My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Trixie!

Trixie was found abandoned with her two kittens and was taken in by a lovely family until they were able to get them into shelter. She was very social and loving from the second they found her and has been blossoming into the perfect cat in her current foster home.

She has been quite the little chatterbox, but her meows are soft, sweet, and calm just as she is! She absolutely loves to be pet and will hang out with you all day long if you let her. Despite having kittens of her own, she still loves to play kitten games!

Trixie absolutely loves treats, you will easily find your way into her heart with a hand full of snacks! Trixie was a very loving mother and cleans her babies all the time, so she would possibly be a good fit for a household with other cats for her to groom and snuggle!

Trixie is not picky and can't wait to see what the future holds for her. Are you the one for our beautiful pixie trixie? Fly on down to your nearest computer and apply online, or contact the shelter to book an appointment to meet her!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
