My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Virtue!

Virtue is a gorgeous young girl with a heart full of love and curiosity. Virtue is super affectionate and adores her humans, she thrives on cuddles and attention. Her playful energy makes her a joy to be around, she loves playing with toys. Virtue is great on leash and loves walking and exploring outdoors.

Virtue lived with another male dog and they got on great, but Virtue can be a bit selective with other dogs, but with time and proper introductions she may do well with other dogs. If you're looking for a loving, loyal friend who's ready to share your adventures, Virtue is waiting to meet you!

Visit our centre to meet this pet during viewing hours on weekdays between 1pm-5pm (excluding Thursdays as we are closed to public) and weekends 1pm-4pm at 3202 Norland Ave. or; 2.) The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
