My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm John! I'm young and full of life. My days are filled with playful antics, zooming around with boundless energy. I love to chase after toys and return them, showing off my smarts. I'm friendly to everyone I meet, always wagging my tail in greeting. But it's not all play, I'm a cuddly fellow too. I love to snuggle up and give affection. After a day of play, there's nothing better than curling up for a good nap. I'm a sweet boy, full of love and life, waiting to share it with someone special. Why should you adopt me? Well, I promise to fill your days with laughter, love, and lots of play. I'm not just a pet, I'm a friend, a companion, a source of joy and comfort. I'm ready to make a home complete. Will it be yours?

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
