Atticus is a gorgeous sensitive soul who has won the hearts of the feline ladies in our Colony room (as well as volunteers and staff). He was left behind when his former owners moved away and it has taken him some time to get over that abandonment. We think a confident affectionate cat in his new home will help him to settle in. Situated 10 miles southwest of Boston on the beautiful grounds of the former summer sanctuary for the city’s working horses, ARL’s newly remodeled shelter in Dedham, Massachusetts is just a glimpse into ARL’s bold future. The new modern shelter design allows us to provide even more animals with high-quality direct animal care that meets best-practice standards in animal welfare.
The 27-acre property serves as ARL’s main livestock center and is home to Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery, the oldest continuously operated pet cemetery by a humane society in the United States.
