Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Gemma has been my best friend, my snuggle buddy, and a constant companion to me for the past 6.5 years. I adopted her at 1.5 years old from the Humane Society up in Vermont, where I was living in 2018. Gemma was born into a hoarding situation in the South, and then adopted by a family with a cat and a young child, so they chose to rehome her after a year and a half, and then I met her. Since then, she and I have gone on walks, snuggled up for movies and popcorn, and been best buds for close to 7 years. She knows basic commands, is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She communicates when she needs to go out.
Gemma has been a joy to have in my life, and I love her deeply. Unfortunately, she is not a good fit for a home with an autistic child in it, and we are finding it hard to accommodate her. She will get excited to see you come home, but is a real couch potato, not too active, a real foodie who loves to chew on a bone. For the right person, she is super low maintenance.
