Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Gemma has been my best friend, my snuggle buddy, and a constant companion to me for the past 6.5 years. I adopted her at 1.5 years old from the Humane Society up in Vermont, where I was living in 2018. Gemma was born into a hoarding situation in the South, and then adopted by a family with a cat and a young child, so they chose to rehome her after a year and a half, and then I met her. Since then, she and I have gone on walks, snuggled up for movies and popcorn, ate meals, and slept in the same room for close to 7 years.
Gemma has been a joy to have in my life, and I love her deeply. Unfortunately, she is not great around the kids now in my life, and so I am looking to rehome her with someone who understands that Gemma has baggage from being a rescue dog. She has bitten people who get too close to her face at the wrong time, and while no one has been seriously injured, she needs to be kept at a safe distance from people who do not or cannot be expected to know her boundaries.
