My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eleanor is a loving, playful, cuddly and sassy 5 year old. She and her siblings were turned in to the shelter. She's polydactyl, has extra toes! She's the smallest of the bunch but don't let that fool you. She will stick up for herself! She is a bit spoiled and requires hugs and kisses before each meal. Meet Eleanor at Petsense at 1215 West Gate Dr. in Leland.

More about this rescue

We are an entirely volunteer adoption outreach program for New Hanover and Brunswick County Animal Controls. We seek to increase their adoptions by bringing animals off site directly to potential adopters. We concentrate on the animals that have run out of time or have special needs. We move them to a safe haven with private citizens, strive to provide them with every veterinary or behavioral need and then we find them a forever home. We also try to educate about the plight of homeless animals in our community and about the necessity for spaying and neutering. We have recently opened a spay and neuter clinic in Winnabow, NC.
