Not sure if you're 100% ready for adoption? Roadie is an option for Foster To Adopt for a few days.

Roadie is a 9 month old GSD-Lab mix who we call our “Three Legged Wonder Dog”! Roadie was rescued from one of our shelter partners after he was struck by a car in a hit and run. He was in rough shape, but the shelter patched him up temporarily until we could save him. Our vet helped us determine that the best course forward was removing his leg, so Roadie became a 3-legged Road Warrior! This handsome dude hasn’t let that stop him from living life to the fullest in any way though! He weighs around 65 pounds and is the happiest puppy ever! If you’re ready for adventure and love, meet our Roadie!

Roadie is an outgoing, loving puppy who is ready to take on the world with a smile and a wagging tail. He is a cuddly and faithful dog who loves his people more than anything in the entire world. However, if you give him a toy he can easily keep himself company for as long as he needs. He is a total love bug and exemplifies the very best of the Lab breed that everyone knows and loves. Don’t let his missing leg fool you, this dude is excited to hit the trails, head to the beach, swim in a lake, or camp under the stars with you. He took to being a tri-pawd dog like a fish in water and never let it get him down. Roadie loves to show off his zoomies as he carries around whichever toy he picked for the day. He is a super dog with the heart of a lion! He loves every toy, he isn’t picky! He is also a total foodie and will chomp on whatever you give him, even ice! Roadie’s dream forever home is a family ready to love on him! He is a fabulous dog who will make a wonderful addition to the family lucky enough to bring him home.

Roadie starts his morning at 7 AM with a yawn and a stretch in his crate. He goes right outside for a potty break and then comes inside for breakfast and a treat. He is especially energetic in the morning so he spends some time showing off his fabulous zoomies. He either gets a morning walk or some playtime in the yard before he settles in for a nap on the couch as his people work. He gets a snack at lunch and then spends a few hours alternating between playing and napping. He has dinner at 6 PM followed by another walk once the weather cools down. In the evening, Roadie plays with his toys for a while as his foster people finish their day. He gets some cuddles and kisses on the couch as everyone settles down. After one last potty trip, Roadie heads to his crate around 10 PM for the night.

Roadie has been fostered with various dogs of different ages and sizes. He gets along with them and would love a playmate in his forever home. Roadie loves his walks but would benefit from continued leash training. He’s not quite aware of his strength so only adults should walk him at first. He would love to attend some training classes and socialization classes with his new people. Roadie is house trained and crate trained. Roadie is smart as well and has already learned some tricks! Bring home this wonder dog today!

Roadie is only an option for homes with experience in large breed dog ownership. Kids in the home should be over the age of 9.
