Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Yammie and Butternut are two gorgeous tuxedo sisters who are dressed to impress with their matching black-and-white coats. These lovely ladies are shy at first but have hearts full of sweetness for anyone willing to give them the patience. While they'd love to stay together, Yammie and Butternut are also okay finding their own homes. They have lived with alot of cats in the past so either of them would be perfect if you are looking for a friend for your kitty at home. Come down to Dakin today to visit!
Do you want to make a difference in a special kitty's life? Consider adopting one of Dakin's "Spirit Cats. These cats are fearful of people and don't require a lot of attention. What they do need is a place to park their paws in a quiet home where they'll be loved just the way they are. One day, you may find that you've earned their trust and get head butts and maybe even a bedtime buddy. But there are no guarantees. Your visitors will never see them because they'll quietly slip away and disappear into a closet. Spirit Cats may enjoy being around their own kind and sometimes make great companions for other cats. Are you ready to make a difference in a special kitty's life?
If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of three ways:
Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt.
**the below two methods are slower than visiting us**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.
Check out the video (above, with the pictures) for top tips on how to bring a kitten like this home with you and integrate them into your home!
All kitten adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccination (if over 12 weeks of age)
-current on distemper vaccines (will need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
