Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Trixie! This little cutie is the quintessential kitten. She is super playful-with humans and with other cats. Trixie loves to play with her little red mouse toy (which will come with her when she's adopted), plays hide and seek, and will definitely unroll the TP if given the chance.
She is also very loving and will purr within seconds of being petted or picked up. The top of the cat tree is a favorite hangout. Trixie's foster parents say, "she is a delight to have-so energetic and such a sweetie.
We feel that Trixie would do best in a home with another kitten or very young adult cat who is in need of high-spirited feline companionship.
This adorable bundle of fun was found by a Good Samaritan and brought to our partner shelter. Upon finding that Trixie had a mild skin infection, shelter staff asked us to take her in. She is now healthy and ready to find her forever home! Trixie is 18 weeks old (as of mid-November 2024). She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV and has received age-appropriate vaccinations.

Go meet their pets
We list all of our kitties here on Adoptapet as well as on Petfinder. Many of our kitties go to adoption events at a Frederick PetSmart store. Please be aware that kitties typically do not show their true personality at an adoption event. Check our facebook events page for upcoming adoption events: https://www.facebook.com/pg/FFOCASonpets/events/

More about this rescue
Our mission is to support and facilitate the lifesaving work of our local county shelter (Frederick County Animal Control) by providing the resources to:
- treat and rehabilitate animals with medical and behavioral needs who might otherwise have to be humanely euthanized;
- enrich the shelter environment and reduce the amount of time any animal stays in the shelter, minimizing the chance for new behavior or health problems to develop;
- recruit volunteers and foster care providers who are able to work with special needs animals; and
- help families keep the pets they have and avoid surrendering pets to the shelter.
We serve as a safety net for the homeless pets of Frederick County. To help achieve our mission, we have a rescue program (Cats with Character) as well as a shelter intake prevention program (Project Hope). We work closely with the Frederick shelter's barn cat program, Barn Cat Buddies. Through Project Hope, we are sometimes asked to help rehome animals who are still living with their owners.
On our Adoptapet page, you will find our available cats and kittens, kitties who came through Barn Cat Buddies but who would do well in an indoor home, and animals coming through Project Hope who are looking for a new home.
