Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Hugo is a really funny, sweet boy who loves to play and cuddle on the couch. We rescued him when he was about 3 months old.
He’s about 4 years old now, and we had a really amazing 3 years with him with our older dog, Bruce, and cat. Bruce passed last Dec and Hugo has been slowly showing us that he can no longer live with other animals. At first, he was depressed because of the loss of Bruce, and we adopted a puppy so he’’d have a companion. He did great with her, but after a few months, started aggressively chasing our cat. A few months after that, he was no longer good with our puppy.
We have been pursuing care with a behavioral vet and have not made much progress. He may need time finding the right meds to help him with his anxiety, but maybe he’ll be just fine in a quieter home.
He’s such a lush around adults, but he’s very freaked out by kids. He does not have separation anxiety, he is not destructive. He is a little reactive on leash, but training has been effective.
