Preta, which means the colour black in Portuguese, loves all toys (fluff balls, wand, ball on a track, cat nip pillow pads, mice, etc.). Preta is the quiet one, with a very sweet and gentle nature. She is very playful and friendly. You can often find her snuggled up sleeping peacefully alone while the others are still playing. She watches the others more and will play when initiated. She does snuggle up with her siblings at times, but she’s very polite and independent. She’s loves to be held. She will flop and roll over to enjoy belly rubs, purring all the time. She uses the scratch posts well, and has clean litter box habits. She likes to be involved while you sweep the floor. Preta gets along well with other cats and kids, but is best suited with a gentle cat. She would love to be adopted with one of her “colour black” siblings.
Kittens under the age of nine months MUST have another age-appropriate cat or dog in their home, or as otherwise noted. PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO SUITABLE APPLICATIONS FOR SIBLINGS.

Meet & greets are either in person with the foster and cat or virtual, at the discretion of the foster.

We are currently in the adoption centre at PetSmart Etobicoke, where we have a limited number of cats and kittens. All of our available cats can be viewed on our website.

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.
We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.
We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
