My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $200, plus taxes
Location: CSHS Foster Home

This is a delightful cat. She is playful, gentle, sweet, and great at long graceful leaps. She is polite to other cats and plays fairly gently with the resident cat in her foster home.

She has always tolerated being picked up without struggling to get away. She is a bit young and restless for sitting still on a person's lap, but she will sleep on a bed or comfortable chair or other soft area near you.

She will entertain herself with small stuffed toys on the floor, tossing them up and catching them again. She sometimes will bring the little mouse toy to you and drop it by your feet. Winnie doesn't exactly fetch on command, but will sometimes chase after the mouse if you throw it out for her. She is great at chasing things on a string.

In the morning when you get up, she will sometimes meow to make sure you are planning to get her some food. Such a joyful and bright-eyed girl eager to greet you each morning. She is very neat about using the litter box.

Winnie is a female, 1 years old. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date with her vaccinations.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
