My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FUN & FRIENDLY:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 33 lbs.

Hello, I’m Winifred!  I was at animal control, and it was my lucky day when Mostly Mutts came to rescue me!  There are great things in store for me, and the volunteers are taking great care of me while I wait for my new family to find me.  Plan to come meet me soon and see if I am YOUR new furry family member!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off site and learned a lot!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was a bit shy with them, however I became best friends and did everything together with another dog in the prison/foster training program, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / I’ve not officially met cats, but I HAVE observed them through the window to the Kitty Aquarium at the shelter.  I appear a bit too interested in them, so I do not think I should live with cats. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as a ‘sweet and wiggly’ girl with a happy and friendly nature.  I was fabulous for my shelter bath and showed my affectionate side with kisses of appreciation when it was done.  I will be a great companion for a family who is looking for a smart, curious and active fur friend.  I have a higher energy level when my energy has not been expended, so a fenced in yard for me to explore would be a plus.  / My energy level off site in the prison/foster training program was about a 5-7. At the shelter, my energy level has been a little higher, 6-8.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  So far, I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, and ‘drop it’ commands as well as how to accept friendly strangers without jumping.  I also know the ‘focus’ command!  I am currently working on my leash skills as I’m a bit of a puller, so check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits were good on the prison/foster training program schedule.  However, I’ve had quite a few accidents on the shelter schedule.  I may need additional time to adjust to a new schedule, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule in my new home, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I have a playful nature and really like when the volunteers pull out toys at the shelter.  Whether we are playing or just hanging out for snuggles, I am sure to have a good time with you and soak up some love as my whole-body wiggles with joy when we’re together!  I love opportunities to get my energy out, so let’s have lots of play sessions and go for lots of walks together, please!  / Other than my strong interest in cats, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a great home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
