My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A FUN & ACTIVE PUPPY:  Approx. 4 – 5 months old / Approx. 20 lbs. & growing

Hi, my name is Kira!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I have been soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers while I wait for my new family to find me.  The volunteers bring me joy, and I return the favor.  I can’t wait to do the same with my new family!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and though I was a tad timid and shy, I did start to interact with them after a little time, so if you have a nice doggie that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a volunteer favorite!  They describe me as ‘friendly, happy and sweet’.  An affectionate and fun-spirited puppy, I seem to adjust to new situations well.  For instance, during my shelter bath, I was initially afraid to be in the tub, but then had fun drinking from the water sprayer and leaned back for a shampoo belly rub.  Playful and friendly, I am sure to bring lots of joy to my new family! / My energy level is 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I am a good student and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands.  Check back soon to see what else I have learned. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule, but – for a puppy – I am making good progress.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like toys and being a typical puppy - I love play time!  I’m on board for all the belly rubs, too.  I look forward to making fun memories with my new family! / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and spayed.

If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
